Part 1: Positive Role Modelling
We can all think of people who have been a positive influence in our life. But what characteristics make a person a positive role model?
In this assessment you will be investigating the concept of positive role-modelling. You will prepare and present a 20 minutes presentation about your findings.
In your presentation you will need to;
• Define positive role-modelling.
• Describe the qualities and characteristics associated with a positive role-model.
• Present the stories of 3 people you believe have been positive role-models in their field.
• Explain the qualities you possess that make you a positive role model in your workplace.
Part 2: Improving Personal Work Performance
This part of the assessment focuses on how to improve your work performance.
The table below lists ten (10) areas you can work on to improve your personal work performance.
Step 1:
For each item show give yourself a score which reflects how effective you are at managing this area.
Step 2:
In the space provided, explain how you currently manage this area and what steps you can take to improve your performance.
Step 3:
Rank the areas from 1 to 10.
• 1 = Needing the most urgent attention
• 10 = Needs little or no attention
Part 3: Networking
In this part of the assessment you will examine your network (personal and professional) and discuss how it can help you;

In this part of the assessment you are required to download pictures of six (6) electronic or paper-based systems that can help you organize and prioritize your personal/work tasks.

• Discuss how each system operates and why it is useful for organizing work and/or personal tasks.
Step 2:
• Explain the system you currently use to prioritize and facilitate the competing demands to achieve your;
personal,
team and
organizational goals and objectives
Step 3:
• Discuss areas of your life/work that are still challenging and what system you could adopt to make these demands more manageable.
