Janis discussed how political groups (e.g. presidential advisors) make risky decisions in his book Groupthink. Cognitive psychologists have examined how people evaluate alternatives and information to arrive at risky decisions. What does this eclectic field of research offer the labor-management negotiator (if anything)? Does it have any implications for managerial or union preparation for negotiation?
