Case Scenario: The executive managers of the chain restaurant have recently decided to make a radical change. The change has shifted the mission from being focused on operational efficiency to customer satisfaction. For the past decade, the restaurant has operated profitably and had low employee turnover. However, the company's efficiency-focused mission uses a hierarchical structure that information does not flow easily between departments or ranks. in the past, the front-line staffs have complained about being frustrated because their voices are not being heard because most decisions were made based on inputs from senior managers.
