After you have completed the reading assignment for chapter 10, examine 3 maps related to the Great War. The first shows the borders of Europe in 1914 when the Great War began. The second shows the borders of Europe in 1919 after the signing of the Treaty of Versailles. There is a third map in Chapter 10 (map 2) that provides similar information to the first two maps.

Make sure you read the map titles and explanatory notations, then the position of borders, and the legend (or key).

Once you have examined the maps, write a response that answers the following:

What changes did the victors make to the borders of Europe? What did they do to the losers? Why do you think they created the new nations that they did (you might want to look back at your chapter for help on this one
