Background
The data you have been given are responses to a town community survey that focused on youth substance use. The survey question was:
"What could our community be doing differently to prevent youth substance use?"

These survey responses are in the words of the participants, with their original grammar, punctuation, and spelling.

Perform the following steps:
Using the data provided in the Excel spreadsheet, code the survey responses using what you have learned in this module's learning materials.
Develop at least four categories from your codes (you may have more categories if you wish)
Develop at least two overarching themes from your categories (you may have more themes if you wish)

Answer the following questions:
1) Based on the reading from Robinson & Leonard, why was an open-ended question appropriate (or not) for this survey question? Explain in 2-4 sentences.

2) Create a bar graph similar to the example below showing the frequency of each category in your survey (how often was that category featured in a response?). You may use SPSS or any other software to create the bar graph.

3) Write a 3-6 sentence summary of your research findings, as though you were presenting your results to the community survey organizers: What DO respondents think the community could do differently to prevent youth substance use?

4) Write a one-paragraph reflection on the qualitative data analysis process. Be sure to include:

a. What challenges did you observe in coding these qualitative data?
b. How clearly did the categories and themes emerge from the data?
c. Did you find it difficult to be honest, reliable, valid and transparent in your coding? How so?
d. Would you feel confident presenting your findings to the community survey organizers? Why or why not?

Submit your answers along with lists of your codes, categories, and themes. You do not need to submit your full spreadsheet showing every coded response.
