Question: You are moving to Philadelphia and two savings banks have been recommended by soon-to-be colleagues. They are Beneficial Mutual Savings Bank (OTS Docket # 15697) and United Savings Banks (OTS Docket # 28836). You thought you would compare their capital adequacy, which is easily accomplished at www3.fdic.gov/sdi/ where you can create a report for the two savings associations. If you need some help creating a report using SDI continue reading. The process to create a report requires you to select the number of columns. You want to select "2" to develop the format to collect data for the most recent report.

This provides two pull-down menus, each labeled Select One. In the columns select Single Institution from the menu and goon to type in the OTS Docket Number. After defining the two columns, click on Next. At this point you focus on Report Selection, choosing to view and do calculations in percentages. Then you get to identity the information you want to collect before creating the report by clicking Next. You will find the "Performance and Conditions" report to be helpful.
