What does an organization need to do to ensure an effective HR department? What can the HR department do to ensure its effectiveness? And what role do employees play in helping to achieve this goal?

An organization needs to utilize Human Resource Management as a necessary record-keeping and largely administrative function in order to forego the contribution that Human Resource management can make to a firm's performance and end result. Also, an organization needs to take a strategic approach to HRM which requires a focus on strategic thinking and processes. It is also important for HRM to carry out a company's strategy, mission, and goals.

Another thing that an organization needs to do in order to ensure an effective HR department is for a company to follow the ARDM model which is acquiring, rewarding, developing, and maintaining and protecting and this model works as a road map for operating managers to be able to see the whole picture and effectively manage a company. There are four steps that need to be taken out by managers when using the ARDM model which are diagnosis, prescription, implementation, and evaluation.

Employees play an important role in helping to achieve an effective HR department because employees are considered the human resource element, and are the most important concern in the diagnostic model. It is vital for the human resource department to look for employees who have a good attitude, are motivated, and would represent the company and uphold its morals and ethics. Since the employees are the human resource element, it is important that the human resource department focuses on rewarding employees for good work that is done along with determining how employees are motivated so that they can create the work environment that will sustain the motivation.

The employees play the main part in helping to achieve this goal because a company will be effective if it provides employees with an equal employment opportunity, looks for applicants that are going to uphold the company's reputation and what they stand for, and showing appreciation and rewarding workers for what they have accomplished and for doing a good job.
