Reflective Journals
Students will engage in fortnightly journal reflections on various elements and the importance of Lesson Planning.
This assignment consists of two critical, reflective responses to three selected questions. You are provided with three questions, from which you are required to choose any two. The questions cover weeks 1-5, and reference should be made to session materials and readings in your responses.
• Each response should not be longer than 250 words
• Please provide the word count at the end of each of the responses
• This assignment is not an essay, so there is no need to write an introduction or conclusion to the assignment
• You should utilise each of the questions as headings of each of your two responses
Due to the reflective nature of this assignment, it is required that only a minimum of two (2) references be used in this task. This means, each response should contain at least one reference.
Journal Writing 2, Planning and Programming [PLAN]: Content for our curriculum- what to teach, planned experiences and learning
"Educators are responsive to all children's strengths, abilities and interests. They value and build on children's strengths, skills and knowledge to ensure their motivation and engagement in learning." (BELONGING, BEING & BECOMING, The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia, p. 14)
When making a curriculum decision on what to teach, what are some child focused considerations we need to follow? What can Early Childhood Educators align their curriculum decisions with and how do you make these decisions?
