Last week we began to consider whether the antagonism against the Little Rock 9 could still occur today? This week, we are viewing examples of groups which are currently under attack. Consider recent suggested policies in Arizona which would require Latinos to show documentation upon request, the attacks against Muslims after Sept. 11th, or the protests against same-sex marriage. Write and submit your reflection regarding:

1) What should we have learned from the past?

2) What can be done to change this current wave of antagonism towards new targets? Have we made enough advances in reducing prejudice and hate from your perspective?

3) How do we begin making permanent changes so that we do not use scapegoats to repeatedly attack new groups of people during times of fear and conflict?

4) How do the films "A Better Life" and "If these Walls Could Talk II" attempt to educate the viewer and reduce prejudice? What are the lessons to be learned from these films? What, if any, impact has watching the films had on you personally with regards to dispelling myths or stereotypes?
