LESSON 3: SCOPE AND SCALE OF PRODUCTION
NTRODUCTION - In this lesson we look at two areas: (i) the scope of production and how goods get to the consumer and (ii) the location of production and the factors that influence an industry's growth in a particular area.
YOUR AIMS - At the end of this lesson you should be able to:

1. What benefits are obtainable by a producer who uses a wholesaler?
2. Under what circumstances will an industry locate near the source of its raw materials?
3. "Industry is best located near its source of power". Do you agree? Explain your answer.
4. What is industrial inertia?
5. "Improved transport links now mean that all industries are 'footloose'". Do you agree? Explain your answer.
