Problem: Rachel has been with YMZ Hotel for 18 months. She is not a very good concierge. You wish she would just quit and find another job that is a better fit for her. Recently, there have been complaints that she was not very polite to hotel guests. One guest in particular was offended, but "didn't want to cause a scene." When Rachel comes in, as her leader you fire her. Finally, you are happy that she is gone. But, is she really gone? Rachel decides to contact the HR Department. When the HR manager reviews Rachel's employment file, no previous write-ups or coaching sessions were on record. As a coaching expert, design a coaching session for Rachel that includes the following: Knowing that Rachel might be a bad fit for the job, why do you think it is important for you to coach her?
