Question: There is informal social control that says that intimate groups help us identify and "figure out" what behaviors are acceptable. We learn these things from parents, siblings, friends, friend's parents, family friends, teachers, etc...your "village" helps us identify what is important and what isn't (behavior wise). Travis Hirschi argues that "individuals who were tightly bonded to social groups, such as the family, the school, and peers, would be less likely to commit delinquent acts." Because they are removing subjective discipline from schools (Don't catch an attitude with me!), we are actually rejecting the idea of informal social control and are hurting our students. From Hirschi's control theory, is control inherently a bad thing. Explain and give references
