In his presentation, he boastfully discusses the wide range of procedures he did in while in Africa, including many outside of his scope of practice. One student raises her hand and asks if he had received formal training in all the surgeries he performed while abroad. "No, but it was either me or no else taking out that appendix. At least I knew my way with the scalpel."
