Case:
Mr. Worker has been an employee of the Regional Hospital for the last five years. The reason for termination was: inability to follow instructions. However, the Regional Hospital has adopted a policy of "employment at will". So it does not have to provide any reason for termination. However, Mr. Worker was very angry with his termination... so upset that he went to the media with his story.
Answer the initial question using these three scenarios. Identify each of them in order.
Scenario 1: You work for the Human Resources Department at the Regional Hospital. The hospital attorney is preparing for the press conference regarding the termination of Mr. Worker. In an effort to help the lawyer, he draws up a document with a list of reasons that justify the termination of the "job at will" for the hospital.
Question: What are your reasons for supporting this policy? Your job is to convince the public that this is a necessary and useful policy.
Scenario 2:
Now you work for a defense group that has decided to help Mr. Worker. He has a press conference in response to the Regional Hospital press conference.
Question: What defects do you find in the hospital's position? Because "employment at will" is not appropriate for the medical practice/industry? Read the contributions of your colleagues and select the contribution that interests you most about the hospital.
Scenario 3:
Now that I select, read the charges filed by the class.
Question: What position do you find most logical for you? The medical industry or practice must adhere to an industry of "employee at will" because and why not? Be sure to mention a partner's contribution
