On a more serious level, many police departments today are beginning to use less lethal techniques to apprehend individuals threatening the safety of citizens or arresting officers. Chapter 6 covers extensively the Johari Window-is a basic exercise in communication flow that monitors how information is passed from the police manager to others and back again according to interpersonal style. (Thibault, Lynch, and McBride, 2011). The authors further mentioned that the model calls for types of communication in relation to the two processes of exposure and feedback: Type A, Type B, Type C, and Type D.
