Question: sabel is a 26-year-old female graduate student who presents to you with a complaint of episodic migraines. She has had migraines since she was 15 years old. Her migraines have been infrequent, and she usually treated them with rest and naproxen (Aleve). They did not keep her from normal activities. She recently started back to school and is working full time. Over the past few months, the migraines have not increased in frequency but have caused some degree of disability because NSAIDs are no longer working for the pain. She is a healthy nonsmoker, is heterosexual, and is not currently in a serious relationship. She admits to daily caffeine use, exercises less than she should, and is chronically sleep deprived since starting back to school. What are you going to recommend for treatment?
