For example, driving a car requires that individuals exercise good cognitive control, attend to many stimuli at once, and be able to adapt to unexpected or changing conditions. Imagine that Maria is a 17 year old high school student getting ready to take her driving test for the first time where she will drive in a car with an instructor/evaluator and be rated on her different driving skills to see if she is ready to receive her driver's license.
