Homework
This writing homework assesses your ability to perform and draw insights from internal environment analysis. Apply the Resource-Based View of the Firm to complete the analysis of Trader Joe's internal environment. You should also refer to the focus questions for further guidance. Your report should be 2 to 4 pages. However, it is important to communicate concisely and effectively. I will use the following rubric in assessing your submission.
While I have provided the focus questions to guide your reading and analysis, remember that you are writing a report. Again, imagine you are a consultant hired by a group of investors who have asked you to provide an assessment of Trader Joe's.
You should not respond in a question/answer format, but rather structure the report in a way that you feel is cohesive and most effective. Consider strategic use of organization and headings. Focus questions
1. What are Trader Joe's resources & capabilities? How has the firm developed these?
2. How do these resources & capabilities provide competitive advantage to the firm?
3. What are the main threats to Trader Joe's competitive advantage?
4. How might Trader Joe's lose its competitive advantage?
5. How would you modify Trader Joe's strategy moving forward?
