The team briefly discussed the increase and Sam suggested they increase the spend by 150% because lately he has noticed a lot of ads for their competitor on many social sites. The team unanimously agreed to increase the spend by 150%. One quarter later, Sam and his team reviewed website traffic and sales after the advertising increase. They did not see any change in either traffic to, or sales on, their website. Sam knows you are a team lead with a reputation for effective decision making. He has asked you to help him understand why their decision didn't have the outcome they expected.
