Ethics are what it all comes down to and it starts from the top down. If a company is run by top management that are not ethical then the employees are not going to be ethical, either. Organizations need to have core values that show they stand for something. While some people do not consider a company's ethical behavior when purchasing products, most people do. If there is negative press about a company due to something unethical they will lose market share and perhaps their business altogether. Businesses have to be held accountable for unethical practices and the way that is done is through the free market, once something unethical comes to light it can be almost impossible to turn the tide at that point.
