1. What are your thoughts of some juvenile cases being transferred or "waived" to adult courts and with adult punishments, especially in the light that young African American men are more likely to have their cases waived than other groups?

2. Even with specific laws and mandatory minimum punishments, police and lawyers have a lot of discretion. This can include on where to patrol, who to investigate, what charges to bring, and plea deals. It seems that a lot of the discriminatory behavior happens during this discretion. How should things change to reduce racism and sexism during this time, if anything CAN be done?
