Part I

Recall a time in a job, co-op placement, an internship, a student club, a student team project, etc. when your values conflicted with what you were expected to do in a nontrivial decision, and you spoke up and acted to resolve the conflict.

Consider the following and write:

1. What were you asked to do? What did you do, and what was the impact?
2. What are the values that conflicted with what you were expected to do?  Explain what motivated you to speak up and act?
3. How satisfied are you with what you did? How would you like to have responded? (This question is not about rejecting or defending your past actions but rather about imagining your ideal scenario of how you would have liked to respond.)
4. What would have made it even easier for you to speak/act? (Here, think of things that you could control, as well as those that others could control).
