Assignment:
Your textbook provides an overview on the physical. cognitive, and social elements of infancy. Using this information, along with additional resources on infant development, design the perfect nursery (AKA child's bedroom).
Things to consider:
. Where will this nursery be located, and why? (i.e., in the parents' room, a room of their own, etc.)
. Where will the baby sleep? Why did you choose this location?
. What are the sensory capacities of the infant? What sights, sounds. and textures will you incorporate into the infant's room that correspond to the child's abilities and preferences?
. What can you inciude in infant's room to facilitate cognitive development at this stage in the lifespan?
. What safety considerations need to be taken, and how will you account for these?
Be sure to back up your choices with scholarly sources (including your textbook) which support your decisions- for example, if you choose to eschew the traditional crib for a co-sleeping arrangement with the parentls). explain what the literature says about the bene?ts of co-sleeping.
