Obesity research can take the perspective of academic or practitioner. Another way to focus research is on specific problems or areas. This assignment focuses on applying obesity research to a specific company or industry.
Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of 10-20 slides (excluding the introduction slide) looking at obesity and a food and beverage company. The following areas need to be addressed:
· Look at the sustainability and corporate social responsibility report of a major food and beverage corporation. (Please choose a company you have not used for a previous IP assignment.) There are several suggestions in the reading list.
· Use the sustainability science framework to discuss how the corporation is or is not addressing obesity.
· What is it doing well, and where does it need to improve?
· What would you tell the CEO?
· What would you tell the head of the American Medical Association?
· What are the risks and opportunities that obesity brings?
· Lastly, on 1 slide, briefly reflect on whether there is a link between your research (actual or proposed) and social justice.
The presentation should contain the following:
· Notes should be written as if you were presenting these slides to the class, and should include appropriate citations as well.
· These slide packs will become a great resource for each of you on the topics that are covered.
· The final slide should include the questions that you still have about the topic.
· Post the presentation to the Discussion Board.
In addition to submitting the assignment to this Individual Project, please also post your essay in the Discussion.
