What are the research questions?

Based on recent allegations that Wal-Mart employees are mistreated by management, receive unfair wages, and scheduling conflicts among other things, a pending strike has surfaced. Some employees attribute mistreatment of associates, favoritism, and extremely low salaries to the lack of an organized labor union. Wal-Mart has not allowed union participation to date. Employees say they are being taken advantage of without representation and have threatened to strike.

There is belief among employees that if union participation was available a lot of negative things that are often talked about pertaining to Wal-Mart would not happen. Internally, it appears that management has taken on the job of researching the employee grievances and is prepared to negotiate to avoid a strike and further negative publicity
