First, read a selection of obituaries in an English-language newspaper of your choice. You can find examples of obituaries in the Arizona Republic the New York Times and the Los Angeles Times.

Then, write an obituary for yourself that will cover a fictionalized cause of death and your chosen mortuary rituals. The obituary should be 1 page please!

Address the following topics:

1. How did you die? How old were you? Under what circumstances did your death occur?

2. What are the relevant details of your life before your death? What social, economic, and family ties did you have at the time of your death? Were you survived by anyone?

3. What are the relevant details about your funeral or memorial service? Did you request any specific songs, stories, or foods to be shared during your memorial service? Who would you like to attend your memorial service? Are there any cultural or religious observations that you would request mourners to partake in following your death?

4. What are your plans for your body after death? Would you like to be buried, cremated, donate your body to research, etc?
