One way to purchase the S&P 500 is to buy each of the individual stocks in the index.  With the use of the internet, find 3 OTHER ways that you can effectively purchase the S&P 500. 

The purpose is to identify that there are many different financial instruments that can be used to invest in the S&P 500.  Provide an ETF, Index fund and a 3rd example.

No more than one of the three ways may be a mutual fund.

In each of these 3 examples

a. State the name of the instrument or fund

b. State where it is sold (name the exchange or investment company)

c. Can the instrument be purchased only at the end of day index value or can it be bought in the middle of the trading day at (then) current price?

d. What transaction costs will you pay to purchase the S&P 500 instrument?

e. What are the relative pros and cons of purchasing the instrument/fund instead of purchasing the 500 individual stocks in the index?
