T6 spinal cord injury while snowboarding 5 years ago

o has movement and feelings in arms

o no fine motor in hands

  • Recently well
  • No new medications
  • Does in/out catheters twice daily
  • Has a regular bowel routine
  • Meds: Baclofen, Colace, senokot, dulcolax suppository PRN
  • Lives alone
  • Works at CRA (Canada Revenue Agency)
  • Has PSW support three times per week
  • BP is normally quite low since the injury: 100/60, rarely gets above 110
  • Questions:
  • What type of injury do you expect at the T6 level?

o What is this patient able to do?

  • Patient Scenario - currently:
  • Feels sweaty
  • severe pulsatile headache (rates 9/10)
  • vision a little blurry
  • nose is runny
  • anxious/restless
