PART 1: RESEARCH METHODS

Explain and discuss the primary methods CURRENTLY used by psychologists in the areas of the two

How is data typically collected by researchers in this area? What are the primary strengths and weaknesses of these methods? Are there similarities? How do they complement one another? Be VERY careful in your use of terminology and note that you are to discuss the PRIMARY methods used, not just a method that is used sometimes or has been used some time in the past.

PART 2: IMPORTANT RESEARCH FINDINGS

Highlight at least one important research study from each chapter. Why do you believe the findings to be important? How have they furthered our knowledge? Be sure that you don't discuss a theory in this section, but an actual research study, how it was done, what was found and why it is important.

Note: Be sure to properly note the researchers who conducted the research studies you highlight.

PART 3: RELATE TO YOUR LIFE

Provide examples from your life that illustrate a concept from each of the two chapters you've chosen. You must give at least one example for at least one concept for BOTH chapters. You may give as many examples as you wish as long as it actually illustrates a particular concept from one of the chapters you've chosen.

PART 4: WHICH AREA DO YOU PREFER?

If you went on psychology, which area (among the two chapters) would you prefer to study? Why?
