A closed tank having a volume of 1.0 ft3 is filled with 0.15 lb of a gas. A pressure gage attached to the tank reads 12 psi when the gas temperature is 80 F. There is some question as to whether the gas in the tank is oxygen or helium. Which do you think it is?

)Calculate the density of the unknown gas, in slugs/ft3

)Convert pressure and temperature to correct units. What are the pressure and temperature in absolute units?

)Calculate the Gas Constant for the unknown gas, in ft lb/slug ?R.

)Is the gas most likely: Helium, Oxygen, or Neither
