Assessment Task

You are part of one of the world's leading retail fashion businesses and have commissioned a report from McKinsey on the use of AI within the fashion industry.

Your Task

You have been asked by your executive to come to a meeting and discuss the following areas:

• Describe how an analytics project to incorporate AI could be set up in the business including its benefits,the methodology and its risks.
o What are the potential business problems and stakeholders
o Justify the need for the analytics project
- This could use elements of CRISP-DM to organise your process
• Business understanding
• Data and analytics required
• Monitoring required
• Technology and AI Evaluation

• Explain the style in which the project will be managed (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban or other) and why
o Key benefits of the proposed methodology
o Risks and how these will be captured and monitored
o The use of predictive project analytics

Below are some of the areas you may want to consider in articulating the business problem

• Product design
o How AI could influence the design process
o How can AI be used in monitoring trends

• Marketing
o The consumer digital experience and how AI could be used to enhance the process
o Ensuring maximum return on marketing investment

• Supply chain and logistics

• Store and online design

• Organisational support and team design

Your project team consists of the following 5 roles. Each will have a different focus and requirement from the project but you will all be part of the on-going project team.

A. Business lead (understands management styles)
Think of this role as the potential project manager

B. Industry expert with marketing analytics experience
Think of this role as the key business partner who will understand the potential business problems

C. Risk Analytics officer (understands predictive project analytics)
Think of this role as the analytics and risk expert who will set up and monitor success metrics

D. Artificial Intelligence specialist (understands the benefits of AI)
Think of this role as the AI expert and provide ideas as to how AI can be used to solve the business problems

E. Executive of the company (understands business strategy and funding of projects)
Think of this role as the project sponsor who will provide strategic direction funding and will wish to question and understand how the project will work

Part A: Written Paper - Identifying Issues

• In your group of five (5) you will be given 40 minutesto discuss and write dot points on the project.
• As a group make a dot point list of the points you will discuss (from above) and stakeholder concerns in Microsoft word and submit to Turnitin on MyKBS by the end of the 40 minutes
• The paper will be 400-500 words
• One group member needs to submit the final paper. The cover page for the submitted paper will show all team member names and student ID's.

Part B: In Person Meeting Simulation

• Groups will then be given 20 minutes to develop a (10-minute) script based on their dot points of a meeting between the project team and the executive stakeholders
• You will ACT THIS OUT in an 8 to 10-minute interaction
• Please be as dramatic and realistic in your roles as possible, and try your best to convey the main points addressing the above issues
• You can divide the tasks as you wish, although they will naturally fit better with some members than others
• Have fun with it! (The executive could be demanding)
