This week's workshop has some exercises relating to the material in Topic 11: future trends in IS.

The exercises are to be handed in as part of your ePortfolio submission 3. Answer the questions in the exercises, and include a section for your reflection on how they fit into the week's topic and your learning.

At the completion of this tutorial you should have gained practice in:

Describing the key features of some current and future trends and how organisations can make use of them

Explaining where organisations are positioned on the technology adoption curve.

Exercise 1: The cloud

Organisations are increasingly moving towards the cloud as an implementation option, making use of different services (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) and deployment models (public, private, hybrid, community).

From an organisational website (again, either from the examples provided in previous tutorials, or a 'new' one of your choice), investigate what the organisation is doing in terms of using the cloud.
