Case Scenario: The significance of this research is to better understand how RN leaders who supervise LPNs and LPNs themselves perceive their contribution on improving communication and collaboration skills between the RN leaders and LPNs, leading to a decrease in patient falls injuries. By interviewing LPNs and facilitating a focus group meeting with RN leaders, the nurses will provide strategies and best practices to improve open communication and collaboration between RN leaders and LPNs in acute healthcare settings. A collaborative discussion in this manner is critical for providing a better understanding of the nursing community's impact in preventing falls and injuries. A focus group meeting with RN leaders and interviews with LPNs may help identify problems with collaboration and communication and eventually provide best practices and strategies to help mitigate these problems.

Question 1: What are the perspectives and experiences of RN leaders and LPNs regarding communication barriers and enablers leading to patient injuries in an acute healthcare setting? (for RNs and LPNs)

Question 2: What are the strategies and best practices that RN leaders recommend for enhancing communication, collaboration, and cooperation with LPNs to improve patient safety and reduce patient falls and injuries in an acute healthcare setting? (For RNs only)

For this assignment, if you are conducting a qualitative or mixed method study, assume that your qualitative results are expressed as the three themes that you created for your Week 5 assignment. Develop brief but actionable recommendations for Leaders and Practitioners based on each of your three resultant themes. For quantitative data, note that hypotheses are developed with the assumption that the alternate hypotheses will be supported. Assume that the results support each of your alternate hypotheses. Include a brief, actionable recommendation for each research question or set of hypotheses.

Note: Keep in mind that your recommendations should convey how leaders and practitioners might mitigate the problem underlying the study. Remember that the goal of a practitioner doctorate is to improve your field of practice, which is accomplished through your recommendations.
