Case: Mrs. justic is a 68-year-old female who comes to the clinic annually for a physical exam. A year ago her exam indicated good general health. Her primary complaint at this visit is tooth and gum pain.

Dr. Smith refers Mrs. justic to you for monthly nutrition counseling until she improves. Dr. Smith informs you that Mrs. Justice's husband died 8 months ago. She lives alone and is on a fixed income. She relies on public transportation. Mrs. Justice's does not have any relatives in town. Her only social activity is church on Sundays.

She eats very little meat, vegetables or fruits because of her dental status.
