In class, we've discussed a range of psychological and social effects of living in the new media society. In particular, we've explored how media messages and technologies shape our access to and engagement with the information society and credible, high quality information, civic engagement and social capital, self-identity, relationships, health, and entertainment experiences. The purpose of this assignment is to prompt you to reflect on what you think are the most important of these effects of living in the new media society by answering the following questions:
1. What are the most important psychological effects of living in the new media society that all media consumers should know and understand?
2. What are the most important social effects of living in the new media society that all media consumers should know and understand?
3. Based on your understanding of the psychological and social effects of living in the new media society, what recommendations about the use of media technologies and the consumption of media content would you offer to both media consumers and media scholars? Consider behavioral, policy, and research recommendations.
Note - The paper should have a title and reference page formatted according to APA (7th edition) style conventions. The paper should be double-spaced with 12-point font and the length of the paper should be ~ 2000 words (e.g., between 7 and 8 double-spaced pages, excluding the title and references pages). Need 2000 words paper + title page + references with in-text citations.
