The TB12 Method
Jeff is a 33 year old IT professional who works from home. He divorced from his wife of 10 years just over one year ago. The end of his marriage made Jeff feel like a failure. They had a lot of mutual friends and he felt too uncomfortable around them without his wife, so he stopped going out with his friends and playing his weekly game of golf, which was his favorite part of every week. When he was married, Jeff's wife did all of the cooking; since the divorce, his diet has consisted of only take-out and fast food. He's gained 40 pounds in the last 6 months and is at the heaviest weight he has ever been in his life. Jeff recently confided in his brother that he thinks he might be suffering from depression. He knows he needs make some changes to get his life back on track. He is a big Tom Brady fan and recently saw the TB12 method. He thinks might be what he needs to get back on track. What is your advice to Jeff?

•What are the major recommendations?
•Describe the major take-away points that you see from this diet/method.
•What are the key things people need to eat?
•What are the major ways they are asked (if at all) to restructure their life?
•Think of this as "the TB12 method in a nutshell"
The Good
•What do you like about the diet? -Consider its fit with the dietary guidelines
-Think about what you've learned about healthful eating. Does this have any of those components? If so, what are they?
The Bad
•What are your concerns about the diet?
-Is there any shady science?
-Any other concerns about the method in general?
Do some investigating. Is there science to back up these claims? Are they credible?
The Cost
•Estimate how much this would cost Jeff for one week
-How does this compare to what he is likely spending now?
-What about how it compares to another healthy option?
-Check out prices at local stores. -Compare all three options (TB12, current eating, your suggested eating pattern)
Overall Recommendation
•What are your overall impressions of the TB12 method?
•Would you recommend Jeff follow the TB12 method
•Why/Why not (remember the shady science slide)?
•What is your alternative suggestion?
•This is the wrap-up phase of the conversation.
•Sum up your points so far-based on X, I recommend Y because Z.
