Case study - Harley

Harley is a 39 year old cross dressing male, who has been diagnosed with schizophrenia. Harley is a large male who works in construction but prefers to wear female clothes. Harley is in the belief that he feels better in women's shoes, but is afraid of others judging him due to the industry he works in.   To stop judgment, Harley changes his shoes in the car before stepping out of the car and feels ashamed of who he is.  Harley struggles with his loss of memory, false beliefs and sometimes he hears voices, and is dependent on Marijuana to cope with these voices. Although at various stages in his life he had tried to talk about his experiences to various Doctors, Psychiatrists and mental health works, but he believes that they are all judging him.

9. What are the long term effects to the children, client, and others involved, if the concerns are not addressed? 
10. What are the boundaries, responsibilities, and limitations for each case study in your work as a mental health support worker? 
11. What strategies would you take and participate in for self care after working with each client? 
12. As a Mental Health Worker what steps would you take to encourage support and promote self-advocacy?
13. What are the impacts of stigma and discrimination on each one of the clients?
14. Identify 5 barriers for each client and strategies to overcome them?
