Introduction
Pain management is an important aspect of effective treatment of patients. In recent years, treating pain has become a hotbed issue due to the ongoing opioid crisis. This crisis has left many clinicians reluctant or afraid to address patients complains of pain. But, pain is a real physiologic response that often requires addressing in some for or another. Recent advances in pain treatment have revealed more effective strategies to treat pain, including non-pharmacologic methods, multi-modal pain control, and judicious and appropriate use of opiates.
