EG, I'm *obsessed* with Jessica Jones and The Umbrella Academy right now and I can't stop thinking about how Killgrave and Allison have the same superhero power but they use that power so differently. Why did the writers of these two shows instinctively think that a white man would weaponize the power to control minds while a Black woman would fight for justice with it? Is this is social critique or does it perpetuate stereotypes? Is it revolutionary or regressive? Those are the dynamics I would explore if I were doing this journal entry.
