Over the speed range considered, it is assumed that there is no dependence on the Reynolds or Euler numbers, but only on the Froude number (based on forward velocity V and propeller diameter d).

In addition, it is thought that the ratio of forward to rotational speed of the propeller must be constant (the ratio V/Nd, where N is propeller rpm).
