Suppose you are an avid beekeeper intent on keeping a new colony of yours alive. However, you develop a high Varroa mite infestation. You introduce an acaricide (a mite specific pesticide) to kill the mites to protect your bees. Curious about the efficacy, some time after the treatment, you return and take a sample of 300 mites from your hive. Fortunately, you happen to have a bunch of high-tech genetic analysis equipment. You are looking for the frequency of a particular allele that relates to acaricide resistance. Both AA and Aa at this locus allow resistance, while being aa results in susceptibility to the acaricide. The results of your genetic analysis are 220 AA, 15 Aa, and 65 aa.

1. What is the frequency of each allele?

2. What are the expected frequencies of each genotype?

3. What is the Chi-square value? Is this population in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium?
