In previous modules, you learned how organizational culture and staff satisfaction were important components of service delivery at any nonprofit agency. In the final, you will be making recommendations to improve the structure of the agency, and this can include suggestions on staffing and roles and responsibilities of workers. Program managers in nonprofit agencies should be familiar with the connection between how jobs are advertised and the types of people the agency wants to employ. While money may not be the prime motivator for a potential worker, nonprofit leaders have to know what will draw in the best candidates for a position.
In this short paper, you will research and analyze job descriptions in order to determine which components are most important when an agency advertises to fill a position. You will demonstrate your ability to see the connections between the structure, culture, and budgeting issues in order to articulate the components of an appropriate and effective job description.
