What role does ego play in group and team communication? In Chapter 8 Ego can identify or control everything and jeopardize the change effort. Ego is a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance(dictionary.com). When a person has ego in a group it's their own personal emotions and how they handle certain things. Which I believe can be a good and bad thing in a way.
Ego normally occurs when a certain situation happens in a team or group. Which brings out the ego in a person. An individual feels it is their part to stand up and act. Which sometimes can cause confusion in a group, because everyone handles things different. A positive ego is when a person has their own ideas and shares their ideas with the team as inspiration. Ego can be inspiration in away.
What are the communication needs in organization? The communication needs in an organization are: 1) Open Communication-when an when an entry level individual shares their feedback and ideas about a problem. 2)Inclusive Communication- is when certain steps are in place to make sure employees are involved in decision making. 3) Two-way communication is when more than one person is communicating in the group.
How can leaders manage productive and unproductive conflict? Leaders can deal with any conflict whether it's taken another perspective, create better solutions, express your emotions, make the first move toward reconciliation, take time to reflect on a situation, and stay flexible and adapt. Communication needs in organizations are the communication within the organization. Organizational communication, or effective communication, is structured based on how an organization operates. Being able to relay messages to the right people is very important due to the fact that it's how organizations revolve.
If messages don't get to where they need to, the structure in the organization breaks. Often time's people are not getting the correct message from others due to how a message is being relayed. Knowing how to effectively get information passed onto others is very important.
The constitutive view of communication is a tool that an organization could use to help the people within its structure to learn how to interpret a message to keep it relevant and informative. "To take a constitutive view of communication means to presume that communication, or interaction, is a process of meaning creation or social construction." ("Constitutive View Of Communication", 2016). Respond?

How does moving from patriarchy to partnership affect group and team communications?
Per what we have learned in past weeks about reactive and creative characteristics in leadership is the following.
1. More people tend that lead or manage organizations tend to have characteristics that are reactive versus creative (Adams & Anderson 2016).
2. We still live in a world that has more men leaders that lead by top-down control and often create cultures that are patriarchy (Adams & Anderson 2016).
3. The need for businesses to go from patriarchy to partnership is great as it successful businesses have a sense of community both internally and externally.
4. It is when leaders are brave and try to control everything themselves that the team can have interactions that are positive in communication.
5. It a team feels like they can do the job without micromanaging and hovering it can create an environment of people feeling trusted and it can make employees feel safe in their roles.
It is imperative for a business to go from patriarchy to partnership so that people want to contribute to the production or other roles in the company. If the employees feel important and the leader asks how they can help, it makes the team feel like they are partners in the organization.
Partnerships may be the reason some businesses have less turn over and are being more innovative in creating new products and ideas that will make an organization financially successful.

Allowing the change from patriarchy to partnership can allow for growth in new ideas and less control of one over the other when roles are concerned. Unnoticed skills could have been hidden and not allowed in positions with a patriarchy. Although due to physical abilities naturally inborn between men and women I still see some positions are not suitable for women. Yet there is always the one case that proves it wrong.
Women are known to be the servient to raise the children, teach life, clean, cook and have skills as such. Yet men are totally capable of the same. Jobs like Engineering use to be thought of as for Men as was Physician yet women are equally capable of being as if not more intelligent. Respond?
