Look also at Kellogg's relationship with Michael Phelps after he was caught smoking marijuana, Ryan Lochte's sponsors' response to him after the 2016 Olympics, and Maria Sharapova's sponsors' responses after she was found using PEDs.

Using information in the chapter, and outside research, what do you argue are the reasons that sponsors stick with some athletes after scandals, and why they drop others? What kinds of scandals are too big to ignore?

What is the importance of branding in these decisions, both in terms of the athlete's brand, and the sponsor's brand? Cite your sources.
