Case Study: Treatment Recommendations

Imagine yourself to be a counselor working with teenagers. You have been asked to share your thoughts on the treatments that can be recommended for teenagers for handling mood disorders.
Written Assignment:You are to imagine you are a counselor who works with teens. As such, you have been asked to provide guidance for treating teens with mood disorders. There are specific questions listed in the assignment description that will need to be addressed.

Be sure that you include appropriate scholarly research to inform and support all assertions made in the paper.

Choose any two of the treatment modalities that you learned in this week. IE: biological treatment, psychosocial, evidence-based. Write a 2- to 3-page essay comparing and contrasting the treatment modalities that you have chosen.

In your essay, include answers to the following questions:

• What are the benefits of each treatment?

• What are the risks of each treatment?

• Which treatment has the strongest research base? Why?

• Which treatment do you recommend for teenagers? Why?
