You work as a support worker at a community centre, with clients who are homeless. Many of the clients also present with mental health issues and recently you have met Adrian who is 25 years old and has been homeless for the past 6 months. In the past two weeks you have observed a difference in his behaviour and you suspect alcohol and/or drug misuse. He has been quite rude and offensive to other clients, is agitated and you wonder if he is under the influence of meth amphetamine. He is now arguing with someone who has accused him of stealing money from their backpack and you worry that the argument may get physical.
