1) What are technology cycles and dominant designs? Give an example of each that is not discussed in the article (or in the Schilling text), and explain why your examples are appropriate. Also, many of the people who have researched this subject have concluded that a dominant design need not be superior to some of the alternative designs. Why is this so? In other words, how can a dominant design emerge that isn't the clearly better than the other competing designs?

2) What is an ambidextrous organization and what is an ambidextrous senior management team? Give a complete definition of each- again, in your own words. Also, do a Google search on 'ambidextrous organizations' and look over some of the websites that cover this topic. Give a 'real life' example of an ambidextrous organization, as well as an example of an organization that hasn't exhibited this kind of ambidexterity.
