Child Profile: You are working with a little boy, Marcus, with a diagnosis of Down Syndrome. Marcus' family speaks Standardized American English. Marcus loves being with his family, singing songs, playing outdoors, and going to new places. Marcus is 28 months old. He understands one step directions given in context and is very social. He communicates intentionally using gestures and vocalizations on a regular basis, for many different reasons. However, he does get frustrated sometimes when he can't express what he means. His parents really want him to be able to communicate using words, but Marcus doesn't yet imitate spoken words.
