Your CS Advisor passed you in the hallway yesterday while you were chatting with your aunt on the phone in Spanish in the hallway. Today, he asked you to come by his office, and asks why you never told him that you were bilingual? There are so many more jobs available for bilingual candidates! You try to explain that your Spanish is conversational only and that you only speak it with family and friends, so you wouldn't really feel comfortable using it in a more formal setting like a job and working with the public, but he insists that it is such a huge benefit to candidates looking for jobs, especially in your field. Now he's sending you job leads that are almost all for bilingual candidates. You're really nervous about having to use more formal Spanish, especially if it involves reading and writing it. You don't want to interview at these places because you don't want to look dumb.
