Case Study: Alicia is working with Jake, a high school student with autism and Down syndrome. Jake spends a majority of his time in the resource room for instruction; however, he does attend tenth grade high school English class when appropriate. The special educator and classroom teacher met last week and decided that Jake should attend class the next few weeks while they read The Catcher and the Rye by J.D. Salinger.
